"Pilates in the Pines is the epicenter for wellness and relaxation
as you build a strong and flexible body."

Why Men Should Do Pilates

Honestly dudes, trying Pilates is not that girly. More and more men are finding that adding Pilates to their weekly workouts improves their core strength, stamina and balances strength with flexibility.

Whatever his fitness goal might be, Pilates affords a man the opportunity to enjoy a total body workout starting at the core and working outward to the arms and legs. The low impact workout is a definite plus for men with joint problems.  Athletes who once played high-impact sports in their youth (football comes to mind) find the low impact activity less straining on aging sport-torn joints.

Guys that give Pilates a try see improvements in their range of motion, flexibility, circulation and core strength. With a strong core being essential to building up strength throughout the body.

According to WebMD, an online resource for health and wellness, exercise experts studied the impact and benefits of Pilates and concluded that when a person starts Pilates exercises they improved:

• Total Body Awareness
• A Stronger Core
• Greater Body Control

Slouching and slumping at the computer all day cause neck and shoulder pain and constant keyboard activity creates repetitive wrist strain. Men that hunch at computer stations all day benefit from improved posture with a Pilates workout. Guys that dedicate time in their day for a well-balanced workout and find Pilates a great exercise to unwind from the work stress.

Professional baseball player Curt Schilling told USA Today, "The first three weeks, I was really disappointed … I wasn't sweating. I wasn't winded, which is what I associate with true exercise. Then in the fourth week I started to understand the Pilates terminology, the idea of working from your center. By the third month I was more powerful and flexible than ever before. And I'd lost 15 pounds."
