Master Pilates Teacher and Certified GYROTONIC®, GYROKINESIS®, and specialized Gyrotonic® equipment teacher, ALANA NORMAN, brings 30-plus years of dedicated Pilates, wellness and medical experience to her clients at Pilates in the Pines. She studied Pilates in the early 1970s under premier trainers Ron Fletcher, Bruce King, Romana Kryzanowska, and Eve Gentry. She graduated from the Chinese School of Medicine with an emphasis on neuromuscular, Swedish and deep tissue massage.

“My philosophy of looking at the whole person is founded in the neuromuscular retraining from the inside out that Pilates delivers,” she says.

“You can wear leggings or sweatpants and a shirt that’s comfortable to move in. Shoes don’t matter as this is a barefoot workout.”

“Our studio is purposely set up to accommodate a single person or a couple. We’re not one of those studios with 16 students in a single class. Our training is highly curated to achieve the fitness level you want and to help you overcome your specific pain or limitations."
