Expert Trainers Essential to Safe Workouts

The only good exercise is safe exercise. When you use equipment you’re not familiar with or put yourself in situations you don’t understand, your self-improvement can turn into self-destruction. That’s why you’ll always be under the supervision of a certified trainer at Pilates in the Pines.

Before you ever break a sweat, our staff will conduct a thorough evaluation of your health and physical condition. Since Pilates emphasizes centering your body, we’ll make sure you understand the principles and techniques of body placement and breathing. Your first few sessions will concentrate on strengthening your abdominal muscles to build the core strength you will need to progress to more demanding workouts.

Because Pilates is tailored to the individual, our trainers will work with you to target specific weaknesses or areas of concern before adding exercises that might do more harm than good. Before we turn you loose to work out on your own, we’ll be confident that you understand the proper way to exercise injury-free and how to recognize potential trouble before it happens.

As a result of a recent court ruling, anyone can use the term “Pilates” when referring to exercise. As Certified Pilates Instructors, our trainers know the Six Core Principles of Joseph Pilates and adhere to them strictly to maintain a safe and effective exercise program. When our trainers integrate new exercises and machines into your workouts, they do so with an understanding of how they promote the system’s goals without subjecting you to stresses that could lead to injury. Their individualized attention to each participant significantly reduces the risk of training injuries. We encourage our students to work at their own pace, slow down when they are tired or uncomfortable, and most of all to have fun!

Pilates in the Pines offers a full menu of authentic Pilates training, both free-form mat training and machine exercise with the Reformer and Power Plate. Classes are taught Monday – Thursday and on Saturday mornings. Private sessions are available during the week when classes aren’t scheduled, plus all day Fridays and on Saturdays after classes by appointment. All classes are taught by Certified Pilates Teachers.

As an incentive to get started properly and safely, Pilates in the Pines offers private and semi-private classes as well as group classes. We offer discounts on packages of 10 and 20 classes and a special package of 10 Reformer Classes for $200.
